We were beyond impressed with Brett. He wasn't the first broker we engaged, but he immediately became the only one we worked with for the rest of our search due to his professionalism, responsiveness and knowledge of the market. He very quickly came to understand our needs - which were somewhat irregular - and proceeded to show us an unbelievable volume of options that closely fit our specs. He was punctual and organized, leading us on tightly scheduled tours across multiple neighborhoods; he was always available via text or email and was clearly working hard on our behalf, as evidenced by the sheer volume of options he showed us; and most importantly, he genuinely listened to us and helped us suss out "wants" from "needs," improving our search greatly. Brett is fantastic - a great listener and seasoned broker with a wealth of experience and knowledge of the city which made all the difference in finding my current rental. He’s was always aware of what I was looking for, only showing places that matched my criteria while being totally up front about the pros and cons of all relevant listings. I believe he really cared about what we’d seen and took that into account whenever deciding to show me a new place. You can’t ask for much more from a broker, plus he’s a hilarious guy, which made the whole experience great! Finishing the lease signings and payments was the easiest I’ve ever experienced as he somehow made it a swift and seamless process, always negotiating assertively to secure the best deal for me.

Brett helped my roommates and I find a great place on the LES, and still checks up on us to this day to make sure everything is going well! He responds quickly, is extremely professional, super knowledgeable about the area, and understood all of our concerns plus took them into consideration when he showed us places. He is also just a genuinely kind and friendly person, and no part of the process was ever uncomfortable or sketchy (as it can often be with NYC real estate). I have already referred him to others who have also found great places with him and I would highly recommend working with him to anyone else looking for a place in Manhattan. Brett McDermott helped me find a home in New York City, while I was out of the country. He gave me a bunch of different options based on my requirements, as well as his personal opinion about the properties, which I really appreciate.
